Friday, October 26, 2007 – The Walk for Family Peace, United Nations

Day 204: We take the subway to Broadway and 116th St. and the start of the last day of the walk. We have no car so we walk together today. We travel down Broadway to 44th St – a total of 9.5 km. When we arrive at 2 UN Plaza, we are met by Eric Olson from ‘Focal Point on The Family’ at the United Nations. We take some photographs and he presents Bob with a package of information about the UN involvement in areas of family.

Afterwards we go for lunch and try to absorb the idea that the walk is complete. It has been a total of almost 5700 km. (3550 miles). In the afternoon, we have a 1-1/2 hour meeting with Eric Olson that is very productive. The evening goes by very quickly and we spend a second night in Manhattan. Now that we are finished walking, it has started to rain.

More details to follow.
