Day 199: Up at 5:30 again, we shower and I make some sandwiches for lunch. We got to the common area for a continental breakfast. We drive back out to the highway and Bob starts walking at 8:30. The colours of the trees are vivid but the leaves are getting thinner. Bob continues down the highway. We find a way to go through Poughkeepsie without using the 6 lane divided freeway that Hwy 9 becomes here.
Bob arrives at 39.7 km at 4:00. We are at a mall just south of the city. We drive back to the hotel. They are still cleaning our room, so we go and get some food. Then when we come back, Bob watches TV and I type up some journal days. I finish watching a movie and go to sleep. It is a quiet night and I sleep well.
