Day 196: We get up at 5:30, get dressed and go downstairs. Carol is up and has made coffee. We chat briefly and then Bob and I drive to our start. Bob starts walking at 7:30. It is very foggy this morning. I buy a map of Albany to study and I tell Bob how to avoid the first ramp puzzle on Hwy 9. The next challenge is to find a way through the circular maze of ramps to the Dunn Memorial Bridge and see if there is a way Bob can walk across it.
When Bob starts walking after lunch, I drive across the bridge and see no way for Bob to cross. I drive back and on the return trip I see a clear pedestrian and cycle path across the bridge. I park on State Street and get a few pictures of the state capital and then I drive back over the bridge and Bob meets me on the other side in Rensselaer.
We turn down Hwy 9J. It is hazy this afternoon. I park at 40.2 km and Bob arrives at 3:40. We drive back to Carol’s house and our parking spot is once again available. Carol welcomes us and starts dinner. We have showers and Don comes for dinner as well. We talk for a while and after a good dinner we are off to bed again. Tonight is very warm and humid.
